If you are travelling overseas within 30 days from
the purchase of your product/s, you can claim back the tax under the Tourist
Refund Scheme (TRS).
The Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS) allows Australian
and overseas passengers to claim back the goods and services tax (GST). There is
only the GST component on digital cameras and accessories no duty
taxes.
What are the conditions of the
scheme?
1: Spend $300.00 or more (GST inclusive) in the one
store.
2: Purchase goods no more than 30 days before
departing Australia.
3: Ask the retailer for a tax invoice totalling
$300.00 or more (GST inclusive).
4: Have the goods with you when you leave
Australia.
How to Make a
claim?
Claims can be made up to 30 minutes prior to the
scheduled departure time of your flight. On the day of the departure you
must:
