- Buyer's Guide: The Fujifilm S100fs has 2 exciting new features which makes this camera the ideal hybrid of a digital compact and a digital SLR camera. The Extended Dynamic range feature is the expression domain between bright areas and dark areas. In nature photography, there are many subjects with great difference between brightness and darkness, such as a bright sky against the dark sea. Such variation is difficult to express without an extended Dynamic Range. A narrow range causes over exposure or under exposure. The FinePix S100FS is the first digital camera with a closed-unit design to have an extended Dynamic Range similar to that of negative film. The newly developed 2/3-inch 11.1 mega pixel Super CCD VIII "HR" and the new image processor "RP (Real Photo ) ProcessorIII" prevents over exposure and under exposure, regardless of whether the subject is a landscape or a portrait.
- The Film Simulation Mode, Bracketing Function has 3 modes: Velvia mode (Mode for distinctive saturation and the colors of Velvia. Produce the vivid colors of nature in photos with great sharpness and color tone based on red and green.), Provia (Powerful mode for any subject. Produce colors with the natural tone of PROVIA film) mode and soft mode (Mode for soft, fine, smooth tonality. Fidelity of hue and soft tone are the features of this mode). These new modes are useful in taking pictures of nature whereby you can press the shutter once and it will simultaneously take pictures in the 3 modes and you can select which one is more better.
- Advanced High-speed Continuous Shooting: The Fuji Finepix S100fs has high speed continuous shooting mode where it can take Approx. 3 frames/second at the Full 11.1 Mega pixels. In Addition, Approx. 7 frames/second (for 3 Mega pixels) High-Speed Continuous Shooting
- The Fuji S100fs has the newly developed Fujinon lens optimized for nature photography.
